Road Trip Time

Road tripping with friends and family can be so much fun. Cruising along, listening to music, and enjoying the view is a great way to experience life. It's not only about the destination, but the amazing places you stop by on the way to the destination. However, being gluten free can cause a lot of anxiety when travelling. Especially on a road trip, as most individuals do not want to be stuck in a car for a long period of time whilst GLUTENED!

Preparation is key for enjoying a road trip whilst gluten free. It is important to map out where you will take your stretch breaks, public toilets, and your destination. However, for the car ride, here is what I bring:

  • Snacks - chips, fruit, vegetables, chocolate, nuts, crackers, popcorn
  • Meals - salads, sandwiches, instant soups, noodle cups
  • Drinks - tea bags, coffee, water, cool drink, thermos of hot water
  • Cooler bag with ice-packs
  • Travel mug
  • Emergency Gluten Kit - Medicines for pain, vomit bag, bloated clothing, toilet paper, water, peppermint or chamomile tea, blanket
  • First aid kit
  • Hand sanitizer, wet wipes and tissues
  • Rubbish bag
  • Phones, tablets and chargers
  • Books, games and music
  • Cash and credit cards
  • GPS
  • Spare tire
  • Roadside Assistance Number

What do you bring on a gluten free road trip?
